All the steps to the perfect winged -liner look. Image shot by @dhruvdawda. Hair & Make-Up by my dear friend, @savannahstander.
Skin Prep:
I started off with a sweep of Micellar water to clear off a good night’s sleep. You’ll be surprised how dirty your face actually is in the morning! I then applied a generous amount of the Pixi Collagen tonic, followed by a lather of Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil.
Following the oil, I proceeded with my Gua Sha ritual. Gua Sha, as I’ve repeated countless times, improves skin luminosity, texture and reduces puffiness. This makes it perfect for pre-shoot! Lastly, I applied some Heliocare sunblock. This sunblock is fab as it rarely interferes with a make-up artist’s job and provides protection for most of the day.

The Make-Up:
Savannah created the perfect, luminous base with:
- Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation in Bamboo Beige
- Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate (this has been used countless times on set and is a winner!)
For the perfect feathery brows:
To highlight by eye-colour and create that perfect slick line:
- Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate
- Bella Terra Cosmetics Mineral Bronzer in Sensual
- Glossier Stretch Concealer
- Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara + used as a liner ( Savannah says, “I prefer this technique because of the ability to drag and smudge”)
And lastly, for the “barely-there” lip:
- De Mamiel Skin Lip Treatement ( This is on my wish-list! Honestly, divine!)
- Stila Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Stain in Cherry Crush
How to Remove:
After a long day of shooting, I am eager to get my skin back to it’s bare basics. Sadly, I often have a gorgeous look but nowhere to go! To make sure my skin was cleansed properly and well nourished post-make-up, I followed these steps.
Firstly, I started with the Clinique Take Off The Day Balm. I love double cleansing when I have had a full-face and day of make-up. It also gets off any stubborn liner or mascara. I then followed with the Drunk Elephant Beste no.9 Cleanser. This cleanser cleans extremely well without leaving your face feeling “stripped”.
For a light over-night exfoliation, I used the Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. This. Stuff. Is. Amazing. My skin always feels softer, looks brighter and more radiant by morning.
I then add a generous amount of the Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Serum to pump back some moisture into my skin. I pair this with any moisturiser I have at my disposal. Usually, it’s the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream.
Last, but not least, don’t forget a good eye-cream to soothe tired eyes. I love Birchwolf’s Natural Eye Cream or Drunk Elephant’s C-Tango Multi-Vitamin Eye Cream. Both are divine.
